Lent 2022

Ash Wednesday

The children have made a wonderful start to their Lent Journey today in school.

Year 3 were chosen to represent the school at mass in Church this morning. They were respectful and prayerful during the service and were delighted to receive the ashes.

Week beginning 7th March 2022

This week the focus for our Prayer and Liturgy is SILENCE. The children will spend some time at the Lent Trail station reflecting in silence. As Meister Eckhart says... "there is nothing in the world that resembles God so much as silence". It is difficult to find moments of stillness in our busy modern lives. This Lent we will all be trying to stop and listen to God's world around us.

Week beginning 14th March 2022

This week we have been thinking about the time that Jesus spent being tempted in the desert. We have talked about the wilderness and how being out on his own must have been hard for Jesus. We think about people who are going through hard times now and ask God to be with us during difficult times.

Week beginning 25th March 2022

As we continue our Lenten journey we think this week about change. The caterpillar in its cocoon reminds us of when Jesus was placed in the tomb. Just when it looks like the caterpillar has died it emerges as a transformed and beautiful butterfly. This made us think about when Jesus rose from the dead. We talked about how we have changed since we were babies.
