September

Date: 8th Sep 2023 @ 3:54pm

Week beginning: Wednesday 6th September

This week we have welcomed back the children to the start of their year 5 adventure. The children have worked exceptionally hard - especially in the hot classrooms. We have spent the last few days getting to know each other and the children have been working hard completing baseline assessments so we can check what support they need from us. We have started to get to know them and we look forward to finding out more about them over the upcoming year.

Next week, we will be starting our structured lessons so the children will be very busy! We are starting a brand new poetry unit as well so see if they can remember and recite any of the poem they will be learning. We will also be starting our new exciting reading book 'Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls' where we will be learning about some inspirational women throughout history. We will be showing off some of the children's work next week.

Well done to those who have received positive phone calls and postcards - and to those of you who haven't yet, please don't be disheartened. You've made an incredible start  and you have been noticed; Miss Neal and I have been very impressed and proud of you all.

Enjoy your first weekend and have a good rest ready for Monday.
