What an introduction to our new book! The children have loved spending the morning rotating around a range of activities and thinking about what the book might be about. The children had the opportunity to....

• Watch the night sky
• Explore the moon via augmented reality
• view a virtual 360 degree rocket launch and space walk
• watch a news broadcast and live footage of the moon landing
• read and discuss quotes from the book
• role play with a toy rocket, dog and space helmet
• listen to the sounds of space
• discuss the solar sytem
• investigate the phases of the moon
• and much much more!

Following this, we returned to class, looked at some pictures from the book and wrote some predictions. I wonder how many of us predicted correctly!
