At St Alban's we use Life to the Full to deliver our programme of Relationship and Health Education.
At St Alban’s Catholic Primary School, we use Ten Ten Resources’ Life to the Full and Life to the Full Plus to support our teaching of Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE).
Life to the Full is a Catholic programme which places the dignity of the human person at the heart of its teaching. It supports children to develop healthy relationships, understand themselves and others, keep themselves safe and grow in responsibility as they move through primary school.
The programme follows three broad themes:
- Created and Loved by God
- Created to Love Others
- Created to Live in Community
Our curriculum from September 2026
Our programme has been reviewed and updated for September 2026.
The curriculum follows a developmental approach. Children revisit important themes as they grow older, with teaching becoming more detailed and appropriate to their age and stage of development.
Our updated curriculum includes learning about relationships, emotional wellbeing, physical health, growing and changing, online safety, personal boundaries, recognising risks, safeguarding and living responsibly in the wider world.
For example, Year 4 includes puberty, changing bodies, balancing needs and recognising risks, while Year 6 includes body image, emotional changes, reproduction, menstruation, pressure, confidence and control, and recognising different types of abuse.

Information for parents and carers
We recognise that parents and carers are the first educators of their children and we want families to understand what is taught at St Alban’s.
Ten Ten provides an Online Parent Portal containing information about Life to the Full, guidance on lesson content and resources to help parents support their children's learning at home.

Parent consultation – October 2026
We are currently reviewing our Relationships and Sex Education provision and policy following changes to the statutory guidance and updates to the Catholic Education Service framework and Life to the Full programme.
As part of this review, we are formally consulting parents and carers.
The consultation is open until 4.00pm on Friday 16 October 2026.
Parents and carers are encouraged to read the information provided by school and explore the Ten Ten Parent Consultation Tool before responding.

Following the consultation, we will consider the responses before finalising our updated provision and policy. The outcome of the consultation will be shared with parents and carers.
Our RSE Policy
Our existing Relationships and Sex Education policy remains the school's approved policy while the 2026 review is taking place.
A revised policy is currently being prepared in light of the updated statutory guidance and Catholic Education Service framework. The revised policy will be considered following completion of the parent consultation and the school's governance approval process.
