Year 5 Waterfall Descriptions

Our Year 5 children have been working incredibly hard on writing vivid descriptions of waterfalls. 

To inspire their ideas, we watched a variety of video clips and gathered powerful words and phrases into a shared vocabulary bank. 

We also explored lots of excellent model texts—and “borrowed” some of their rich vocabulary to help us. Throughout the process, the children supported each other with planning, drafting, and improving their work. 

The result has been some wonderfully imaginative and descriptive writing that really captures the drama and beauty of a waterfall!
