Parent Online Safety
Date: 17th Oct 2025 @ 3:07pm
Dear Parents and Carers,
As children grow up in an increasingly digital world, it’s more important than ever to teach them how to stay safe online. While the internet offers valuable opportunities for learning, creativity, and connection, it also comes with potential risks – especially for younger users.
At school, we are committed to educating our students about how to use the internet responsibly. However, we also know that children are often online at home, whether playing games, watching videos, or chatting with friends.
We ask for your continued support in reinforcing safe online habits at home. This includes:
-
Talking regularly with your child about what they do online and who they talk to.
-
Using parental controls and privacy settings on devices and apps.
-
Encouraging your child to come to you if they see or hear something online that makes them uncomfortable.
-
Setting time limits to help balance screen time with other activities.
-
Being aware of the games, apps, and websites your child uses, and ensuring they are age-appropriate.
Together, we can help children build the skills they need to stay safe, respectful, and responsible online. If you ever have questions or need support with managing online safety at home, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for working with us to keep our children safe in all areas of their lives – both offline and online.
